The element we have received is Talc, talc is a mineral found in many products mostly common a among them being of course talcum powder. But one that you may not know are paper which happens to be the number one use for talc the reason it is used in paper is a filler and for coating.
Another is paint in paint it helps control gloss, improve durability, fights rust, prevents running, and enhances smoothness. Pigment control and stability.
What people don't know about talc is that it is as foliated to fibrous masses, its Monoclinic Crystals being so rare as to be almost unknown. the chemical formula for talc is a very complex one Mg3Si4O10(OH)2 which as i just learned means that there are are 3 magnesium, 4 silicon, 12 oxygen and 2 helium.
The physical traits of talc are as follows
Color is green, gray and white to almost silver.
Luster is dull to pearly or greasy.
Transparency crystals are translucent and masses are opaque.
Specific Gravity is 2.7 - 2.8 (average)
Hardness is 1 (can leave mark on paper)
Now for the chemical properties
Talc is highly flame retardant
Talc in some forms are poisonous
Talc can sometimes be radioactive.
Some dangers included for talc is very disturbing, mainly for women because if talc is to be eaten it can cause massive damage to the ovaries like causing tumors to appear. but the worst fact is that it can cause genital cancer. scientists have done studies since the early 1970's to prove these facts. as for precautions i suggested no consumption of any talc product ever.
There is no real treatment for the problems with talc except consulting a specialist.

ReplyDeleteYou said that to avoid genital cancer and other negative effects, people should avoid eating talc but what is talc in that people usually consume? I saw that its in paint and paper but most people dont intake those.. I hope.
